Primary
Key Stage 1
Year 1 & Year 2
A new beginning in learning.
Leaving Primary Reception behind and moving into Primary Year 1 can feel like a huge step for both children and their parents. We are here to make this transition easier for everyone by supporting you and your child in their next learning step.
Together, we will develop their essential skills and knowledge they need to become responsible global citizens, through inspiring lessons, fun activities and a holistic approach to their learning and development – inside and outside the classroom.
In Primary Year 1, through our theme-based learning approach, we will focus on strengthening their knowledge of phonics, develop further understanding and skills through storytelling, and expand on their literacy and numeracy into other subjects like science, history, geography, PE or art. Suffice to say, their days will be varied, busy, and lots of fun!
In Primary Year 2, your child will be encouraged to work more independently, gaining autonomy in core skills and becoming important members of the school community. It’s an exciting year for children, parents and teachers.
