Cookies and Privacy
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer if you agree. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive.
There are two different types of cookies:
- Session cookies – these are temporary and are erased when you close your browser at the end of your session. The next time you visit the particular site it will not recognise you and will treat you as a completely new visitor as there is nothing in your browser to let the site know that you have visited before
- Persistent cookies – these remain on your hard drive until you erase them or they expire. How long a persistent cookie remains on your browser depends on how long the visited website has programmed the cookie to last
All cookies used on this website (with the exclusion of our booking forms and password protected areas) are third party developed. The main cookies we use are “analytical” cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
You can find more information about the individual cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them in the table below.
Please note that third party cookies may not be controlled by us and are part of your agreement with the third party, e.g. if you are logged in to Facebook or Google. However, most Internet browsers give you the facility to delete cookies that you do not want stored on your device. If you think you have received a cookie from one of our websites that is not listed below then please contact us
You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access parts of our website.
Except for essential cookies, all cookies will expire after 3 years.
